Privacy Policy

Cleared is a to-do list that ranks your tasks. This policy explains what data Cleared collects when you use the app at app.clearedfirst.com or on iPhone, why it's collected, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.

What we collect

  • Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name (if shared), email address, and a unique account identifier. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication, a Google service. With Sign in with Apple you can hide your email address, and the app works the same.
  • Your content. The tasks, lists, notes, goals, rankings, and cleared history you create are stored in Google Cloud Firestore so they sync across your devices. Your content is yours — we use it only to run the app for you.
  • Basic technical data. Standard operational data such as device/app integrity signals (Firebase App Check) and service logs used to keep the app secure and working. The marketing site at clearedfirst.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics or trackers.

AI features

When you use AI planning or AI prioritization, the goal you type and the titles of your open tasks are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate the plan or ranking, then the result is returned to your list. This happens only when you invoke an AI feature — never in the background. Per Google's paid API terms, this data is not used to train Google's models.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
  • We don't show ads or share your data with advertisers.
  • We don't read your tasks except as needed to operate the service (for example, debugging an issue you report).

Service providers

Cleared runs on Google Firebase (authentication, database, hosting, and app integrity) and uses Google's Gemini API for AI features. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. We share only what each service needs to do its job.

Data retention & deletion

Your data is kept as long as your account exists. You can delete individual tasks and lists at any time in the app. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us through the support page and we'll remove it promptly.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access to your content is restricted to your authenticated account by database security rules, and API access is gated by Firebase App Check.

Children

Cleared is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update this page and the date above. Continued use of Cleared after a change means you accept the updated policy.
